Vans, light trucks, boats and machinery with a 24 V electrical system — normally two 12 V batteries in series. If none of that is in the driveway, the setting is a specification you will never use.
At the rate makers commonly state — around a tenth of capacity in amp-hours — 8 A suits a battery near 80 Ah, which covers most cars and small vans. Above that, charging simply takes longer.
Described as high-frequency pulse repair. Read it as an attempt on a sulphated battery, not a repair function: no charger recovers a shorted cell, and the honest ones say so.

A 24 V setting charges a 24 V system, which is normally two 12 V batteries in series. It is not a way to charge two separate 12 V batteries at once — those are charged individually.
No. Shut-off stops charging when full; a maintainer keeps the battery topped up over months with a float stage. If the car stands all winter, the float stage is what you want.
